Blargh! The one trend that I am in love with recently is the trend I can't even master. The impossibly perfect cat-eye has some friends this year and probably next as makeup artists add their own twists to the classic. Christian Dior keeps the cateye original while adding a second flick mirroring the first but on the bottom lash line. Nanette Lepore outlines the whole eye in white which, alas, is not simple for me or most people in general to copy because it reminds me of waking up when I had that eye infection. Eek! Givenchy doesn't use a pencil, kajal or gel to line the eye but instead uses foundation/concealers to do an extreme cat eye that reach past the brows and makes it way to the temple. But lastly, the eyeliner perfection award goes to whoever the makeup artists was for the Vogue Italia shoot for November 2014! It's fresh, it's sleek, it's probably more impossible to copy than the classic cateye, The black lines go across the white painted skin very smoothly and looks stark and totally captivating. This is probably a look that I need to practice. If you see a woman with hieroglyphics across her eyes, say hi!
